Manava Breathing is a method that emphasizes slow, nasal breathing focused deep into the abdomen at a measured rate of 5.5 breaths per minute. Grounded in the principles of diaphragmatic breathing, this technique has demonstrated potential benefits in enhancing heart rate variability (HRV), reducing blood pressure, improving concentration, and promoting mental tranquility.

The practice of slower breathing is beneficial as it helps transition individuals from a state of panic, associated with sympathetic nervous system activation, to a calmer, parasympathetic state. This fundamental shift can be advantageous for overall well-being and stress management.

Co-founded by Gareth Edwards and Will Fleming, Manava Breathing draws on substantial expertise in the field. Gareth is recognized as an Oxygen Advantage Instructor and holds the distinction of being New Zealand's first Oxygen Advantage Master Instructor. Will, a proud Cook Islander, is dedicated to imparting breathing techniques that are empirically validated to enhance mental calmness and presence.
